Description
The famous, Lineco Ph Testing Pen is a quick, inexpensive and easy-to-use archival tool. It is designed to check if letters, cards, books, diaries, documents, folios, papers, boards or other paper-based materials are acidic (unsuitable for storage) or alkaline/neutral (safe for conservation).
It uses a chlorophenol red indicator solution that turns purple on safe materials and remains clear or yellow on acidic, dangerous materials.
Archivists, conservators, antiquarians, restorers, collectors and museum staff also use this pH detector pen to determine if storage boxes, paper-borne memorabilia or folders are acid-free.
Artists and picture framers use it as well to test works on paper and matboard sheets before framing to prevent long-term damage and aid longevity.
Trusted and approved by many government agencies, a preferred choice for museum staff, antiquarians, librarians, conservators and collectors.
Subject to being in stock, order online here and now for prompt dispatch and ( where applicable ) delivery throughout Australia, including Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin, Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Hobart, the Gold Coast and Brisbane!

I found this testing pen is simple, easy and quick to use. The red chlorophenol ink will change colours when testing, marking or writing on the test materials. A purple or lavender-like colour means a safe, pH-neutral or alkaline, acid-free paper. A yellow or clear mark instead shows that it’s unsafe and acidic. For instance MDF, chipboard and cardboards all tend to be quite acidic. The pen is excellent for testing my collection of 1990’s scrapbook and comics collections. Back then the books and magazines collectors recommended litmus paper for testing, and de-acidification spray for all paper magazines. This pen is so much more easier!
