This renown, Lineco Book Repair Tape is a high-quality, acid-free and archival-safe linen fabric tape with a neutral pH adhesive. It is manufactured from from strong, acid-free, flexible linen fabric with a water-activated, neutral pH adhesive.
Naturally it is of archival quality and acid-free, ensuring it will not yellow or damage paper over time. It is water-activated and the adhesive requires moisture to activate, creating a strong, permanent bond.
Conveniently, it is reversible and while the application is permanent, the repairs can be removed with mineral spirits if and when necessary.
It is the tape of choice for restoration and conservation tasks such as re-attaching loose pages, hinging book covers, covering blanks, reinforcing spines, attaching covers to signatures and general book repairs.

My great, grandfather’s WWI Soldier’s Paybook and Army service training manuals recently were bequeathed to our family. All were in a sorry state, after 100+ years. I found this Lineco Book Repair Tape easy and quite convenient to use. Once I taped a frontispiece instead of the recto but I was able to reverse the operation with spirits and re-do it correctly. Very pleased.
