This custom picture frame was brought in to us by a customer who said that it was for her "blue room" but that it just didn't "fit" that it was too loud. Most people will look at the picture and easily see why it wouldn't work not just in a blue room, or most anywhere. It would have been better to instead select a silvery or grey picture frame to complement the mood, tone and feel of the image being framed. You can always ask your picture framer to help with a tasteful and appropriate custom picture frame, it's all part ofa custom picture framing consultation.
A child's drawing, a grandmother's cross-stitch, a teenager's graduation, a couple's wedding, a family's holiday snaps, and other memorable events have all varying memories, moods and colours. Each representative photograph will therefore likely to be disparate from any other and so it should be framed according to its individual, unique colour, mood, warmth and feel.
In other words, these memories each deserve their own, special and individual picture frame and framing, also because a room's existing picture frames decor may well have little or nothing in common with these. That said, designing picture frames and room decorating can be both interesting and challenging crafts. Often people cluster a whole lot of small picture frames in the middle of an empty wall space. The frames and mats can vary according to an image's mood or era.
Or you can make frame all you different picture and snapshots in different sizes frames, but all of one mat colour and one frame colour. White frames with white mats can often make a very attractive display. The positioning and hanging can also affect the whole feel and layout. You can hang the photo frames all at the same level, or staggered. Or in a diamond pattern or rectangular, or in a single line, rising or descending, as along a wall staircase.
Stairway photo display arrangements can be extremely rewarding as there's so much scope for creativity. Perhaps the most important design rule here is to always have the picture frames follow the upward rise of the steps. Photos and pictures also don't always need to be picture framed. We've seen lovely arrangements with pictures hang just with small chains and nylon cord. When you actually get around to hang the pictures, you might consider tacking dummy pieces of paper to the walls first.
The mock-ups should roughly be the same size or dimensions of the real photo frame which you will hang up later. Tacking all the dummies to the wall will allow you to step back and seeing the display without having to hammer in all those picture hooks and then taking them out, if the display isn't working out. Aaaaaargh !!! Can you report the customer for visual graffiti or picture frames abuse? Surely he could have chosen any form hundreds of picture frames style? And what about photo frames? On the other hand is that’s the picture framing that he wanted, the Customer’s always right, right?
This blog in here talks about photo frames and picture frames but I had huge fun doing up my family room with lots and lots of clip frames instead. I really like the sleek, clean, elegant, light feel of these frames which naturally fitted my new "Ikea" style family room with lots of whites and clean, neat, geometric furniture. Clip frames in lots of different sizes aren’t the easiest items to find but if you go online (instead of going for endless walks for miles around shopping centres like I first did), you should find them easily enough and cheaply enough.
Thanks for sharing. I read many of your blog posts, cool, your blog is very good.
