Description
These A4 Frameless Clip Frames with clear glass are also called "Glass frames", "Frameless frames" or "Borderless frames". These comprise of a piece of transparent glazing material (clear glass up to A3 size, plastic glass for larger sizes) a back (2 mm MDF or Craftwood) and several steel clips to hold the two parts firmly together.
The inches or imperial size given herein is nominal and used only to facilitate Customers' product recognition. The actual size of this product is in metric, i.e.: (suits X cm x Y size cm paper). The clips need to be unclipped or removed to insert the artwork ( photo, print or other art) inside, or in between the glazing material and back.
The clips are thick or large enough to accommodate a window mat, if required. Most new-style clip frames have hangers staked at the back for either portrait (vertical) or landscape (horizontal) hanging. Some older-style clip frames have no disparate hangers and are instead hung by an in-built slot at the back of the clips.
After inserting the artwork, the clips are put back and the fitted clip frame may be hung. No fitting or servicing by a picture framer is required. Frameless clip frames are making a bit of a comeback and I was glad to be able to get these once I saw them in Vogue magazine. They did take a bit of finding as not many stores sell them.
