The strips are used for safe, hinge-less, archival, mounting of artwork to mats. Manufactured from archival quality clear polyester and acid-free paper with a self-adhesive backing strip.
Sturdy and safe, the Lineco Mounting Strips are made from conservation quality Archival Polyester (Melinex or equivalent) and acid-free paper with a self adhesive backing strip. Use these See-Thru mounting strips for safe placing of artwork on mounts.
To use, simply position the print or photograph in place and adhere strips to the mat. Position the print or photo and place strips around it. If needed, cut to length as appropriate, then peel and stick them to the mount. No adhesive ever comes in contact with the artwork.
Instead, the art is cradled by inert archival polyester and is ready to be framed. They work by using the polyester to "cradle" the artwork, keeping it safe from the self-adhesive backing that attaches to a mat board.
This prevents any adhesive from touching the artwork, providing a safe, conservation-grade and reversible mounting method for securing items before framing.
